Counseling Services

Joan has been in private practice since 1994. She counsels individuals, children, families, and couples. Her specialties are in Anxiety and Depression, Trauma Recovery, Trichotillomania and OCD (obsessive Compulsive Disorder). She is also a specialist in couples counseling working with both the individual and the couple.

Joan's home office is in the McMurray area, south of Pittsburgh PA. She also offers Distance Consulting through phone and Skype.

Preparing for a Session:

Make a list of ideas you want to talk about.
Don't be afraid to ask me questions.
If feelings come up, stay with them and express them.
You are interviewing me when I am interviewing you.
When the session is over, you should feel you were heard.

Fees:

I participate with all Blue Cross Blue Shield plans including Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and UPMC health plan. If you do not have these insurance plans my fee is $150.00 for the initial assessment and $95.00 for counseling and energy psychology treatments. You MAY be reimbursed by your insurance company for out of network counseling. It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company to see if they reimburse for out of network counseling.  I accept Mastercard, Visa and Discover.

Appointments

I maintain a 24 hour voice mail system at 724.942.5477. Please call if you need to change your appointment. A credit card is required to secure appointments.

Cancellation Policy

Please call at least 24 hours ahead to change an appointment. A No Show or Same Day cancellation will be charged to your credit card the amount your insurance would pay for the session - not just the copayment.
