We’re proud of the Derwood Beers Community Park (see map below) with its pond, pavilion, and picnic area. Located on about four acres of land within the watershed, this land was donated to us on the condition that we would assume the responsibility 
for development and perpetual maintenance.
The park is located along Jackson Road, about 2 miles from Apollo. Take South Pennsylvania Ave (which is two blocks up the hill from the bridge) in Apollo (Rte 56). Follow for about 1/2 mile. The road becomes Old State Road. Follow this for another mile. Make a right onto Jackson Road. Follow for about 1/4 mile. The Park is on the left.
This pond shown above is an excellent place for kids to learn how to fish. It’s seldom fished and the blue gill are not very “picky” - virtually anyone who fishes there will catch fish.
